Who we work with
Not a school? We also work with alternative provision, Scouts and Cubs, holiday clubs, HAF providers and home education groups.
Alternative provision
A named Mentor, a structured pace and no peer grading, for young people a mainstream lesson is not reaching.
Scouts and Cubs
A session at your meeting place, built so every member makes something that works.
Holiday clubs and HAF providers
Half-day project sprints of four hours, the format our own holiday camps use.
Home education groups
Regular courses for your group, weekly or by the term, with the same Mentor each week.
Home-educating families can also study for GCSEs on weekdays with the Luminary Tech Path.
What children master
Every session is a project with a beginning, a middle and something to show at the end.
Robotics
Circuits, sensors and code, up to robots that react to the world on their own.
Game development
Worlds built and scripted in Roblox Studio, then whole games in Unity.
Cyber security
How networks are built in Cisco Packet Tracer, and how passwords are cracked and kept safe.
3D printing
Design in CAD, print in 3D, then test what they made under load.
How it works
Three steps from your first message to your first session.

A few questions, so the pack fits your group. The centre nearest you replies to you personally. If no centre is within 30 miles, we reply ourselves.
Questions groups ask
- Do you come to us, or do we come to you?
- Either. We bring the kit and the Mentor to your venue, or your group comes to a Studio Lab at the nearest centre.
- Do the children need any experience?
- No. Most start with none. Every session is built so a beginner makes something that works.
- How many children can come?
- Six to fifteen in a session. For a bigger group we run more than one session, or bring more than one Mentor.
- What do you need from us?
- A room with power, and your register. We bring everything else.
- Can you work with children with SEND?
- Yes. Groups are small, each child works at their own pace, and the same Mentor comes back each week.
- How much does it cost?
- We quote per group, because no two groups are the same job. A full term or a full year costs less per session.
